Home-Based Options


 

 

 

Free Early Head Start

 

A home-based option is available for expectant mothers and children ages 0 to 36 months. This program provides parents and/or caregivers and their children:

  • Income eligibility guidelines apply
  • Prenatal services for pregnant moms
  • Weekly, 90-minute in-home visits
  • Scheduled group socializations
  • Nutritious meal and snack served on socialization days
  • Parent training during socialization
  • Family advocacy services
  • Health and developmental screenings and referrals
  • Transition planning and support to transition to classroom or preschool
  • Guided by the research-based Partners for a Healthy Baby and Parents as Teachers

 

Free Head Start Preschool

 

 

Preschoolers may be eligible to enroll in a home-based option. This program provides parents and/or caregivers and their children:

  • Income eligibility guidelines apply
  • Weekly in-home visits
  • Preschool curriculum
  • Scheduled group socializations
  • Nutritious meal and snack served on socialization days
  • Parent trainings during the socialization time
  • Family advocacy services
  • Health and developmental screenings and referrals
  • Support in transitioning children from home to preschool and/or kindergarten
