The Gambier Child Care Center Summer Camp was created in 2014, located in Gambier, Ohio on the Kenyon College Campus.
A central focus is placed on physical activity, health and wellness, as well as literacy. The camp encourages the children to explore many new things while enjoying activities they may already be familiar with and to expand their horizons. Campers will spend designated time each day walking and exercising while learning about the importance of health and wellness.
They participate in the public library’s summer reading program and have time set aside for reading daily, as well as giving the children time to journal about their experiences. The program is taught by a qualified teacher and is operated in partnership with the Village of Gambier, Kenyon College and Knox County Head Start. Over the years, children have found it to be an exciting experience.
The Gambier Child Care Center has received the state’s highest 5-Star rating for early education centers. Its hours of operation are 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
